The Custom Audit Template Results widgets allow you to report on specific questions, answers, and scores within your audits, rather than just the overall audit results.
Simply select an audit template, and the widget will display results from audits completed using that template.
There are two types of widgets available:
Table Widget – Displays one row per audit, with separate columns for each question and its corresponding results.
Chart Widgets – Present audit results visually, making it easier to analyse and compare data.
Both widget types can be added to Reports or Dashboards for easy monitoring and analysis.
Score % Matches the Audit Register The Score % displayed in these widgets matches the score shown in the Audit Register for each audit, ensuring consistent results across the system. Audit Access and Permissions Users with My Audits Only access will only see audits where they are assigned as the auditor or reviewer. These access restrictions also apply to the Custom Audit Template Results widgets. This means the same report may display different audit results depending on each user's access permissions.
Add the audit results table
Go to Reports and build a new report, or open an existing one to edit it. To add these widgets to a dashboard just click + Add Widget
- Open the widget library and set the module filter to Custom Audit Template Results.
Add the Custom Audit Template Results table widget, then select the audit template you want to report on from the Choose audit template dropdown.
Each widget displays results from one audit template, showing only audits completed using that template.
The table fills in with one row per audit. Open Columns in Data Query to customise the information displayed in your report. You can add or remove columns, including audit details such as Audit Number, Name, Workplace, Auditor, Due Date, Status, as well as individual audit questions, scores, and comments.
- To narrow the rows, filter by an answer: choose a question, and the dropdown lists that question’s answers. For example, show only the audits where the answer was No.
Use the Export option to download your report table in Excel or PDF format.

What’s in the table
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Audit columns | The audit’s main details: audit number, name, workplace, auditor, due date, status and Score %. |
| Section – Question | The answer given to each question, in a column labelled with its section and question. The first 50 questions are selected for you; add any others from Columns. |
| Section – Question (Score) | The score a question earned. Add it from Columns. |
| Section – Question (Comment) | The comment left on a question. Add it from Columns. |
| Section (Section Score %) | A section’s score as a percentage. Add it from Columns. |
Changing the template starts the table afresh. If you pick a different audit template, the old template’s question columns, filters and sorting are removed, because those questions don’t exist on the new template.
Ready-made charts
You don’t have to build a chart by hand. These ready-made widgets are in the same Custom Audit Template Results group. Each one asks you to Choose audit template when you add it.
| Widget | Type | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Average Score by Month | Chart | The average Score % of completed audits, month by month. |
| Average Score by Workplace | Chart | The average Score % of completed audits for each workplace. |
| Average Score by Auditor | Chart | The average Score % of completed audits for each auditor. |
| Audits by Status | Chart (donut) | How many audits are in each status. |
| Audits Completed by Month | Chart | How many audits were completed each month. |
| Status by Workplace | Chart (stacked bars) | For each workplace, its audits split by status. |
| Answers to a Question | Chart (pie) | How audits answered one question you choose. See the steps below. |
| Average Score % | KPI tile | The headline average score across completed audits. |
| Audits Completed | KPI tile | The number of completed audits. |
| Audits Open | KPI tile | The number of audits that are currently open. |
Averages count Completed audits only. An audit that is still in progress doesn’t pull the average up or down until it is completed. Chart labels and tooltips show averages to at most two decimal places.
Charting the answers to one question
The Answers to a Question pie shows how your audits answered a single question — for example, how many audits answered Yes and how many answered No to “Is the fire exit clear?”.
To add Answers to a Question from the widget library and Choose audit template.
Open the widget’s settings by clicking the three dots
Click data query under slice categories, pick the question you want to chart.
The pie now shows one slice for each answer. A slice called Unknown counts the audits that have no answer to that question.
Pick a question before you save. The widget can’t be saved until a question is chosen under Slice categories.
On a dashboard
Everything above works the same on a dashboard. Open the dashboard, open the widget library, filter to Custom Audit Template Results, add the widgets you want and choose the audit template for each one. Charts and KPI tiles are a good fit for a dashboard.
